Mauro Russo Rouge, a director from Turin, is working ceaselessly at the 4th edition (the Winter Edition) of OIFF TURIN CINEFEST – THE OTHER FESTIVAL. Registrations opened only a month and a half ago and more than 300 films from all over the world have already submitted.
That’s a great result! The festival’s wide appeal is unexpected, our dedication and professionalism are surely rewarding us, Russo Rouge says. The deadline for submissions to this 4th Winter Edition is January 8, 2017. You can submit short and feature films of any genre and runtime. We are working day and night to guarantee an accurate and interesting selection and, until now, we are very satisfied with the quality of films. Our festival was originally launched online, but the next edition is becoming live. After a first phase consisting in 12 days of online competition, a second live phase will follow, during which the winning films will be played in theatres and each director will receive an award, Russo Rouge states.
This festival intends to be a showcase not only for cinema, but for the entire art world. We are investing in the promotion of this particular aspect. In fact, during the live show, we will also be presenting a photography exhibition of Turin artist Serena Debianchi. We developed a real empathy with her and her works thanks to her versatility, Annunziato Gentiluomo, president of the Association ArtInMovimento, says.
We are omnivorous when it comes to cinema, but we feel the urge to propose ourselves with something more. This explains the intention to nickname our festival The Other Festival. Turin is very alert, curious and interested in the art world. Cultural events intensify every year and the hard work of local artists is lively as well. Our main goal is to nurture this atmosphere, Russo Rouge affirms.
As we already know, the two scheduled editions – the Winter Edition in January and the Summer Edition in July – offer to the innumerable films realized every year the chance to have more space and visibility.
They’re about a thousand. Consider that we received about 700 films only in 2016, counting the last Summer Edition as well. And we have been on the scene for only a short time. Our festival is growing, that’s sure, but it is not yet comparable to the most prestigious ones, which consist in one annual edition. They receive thousands of films, but only a few are selected. Who knows if all the submitted films are actually viewed. I doubt it, Russo Rouge continues.
Films can be submitted to the Festival on the official website www.oiff-cinefest.com where it is possible to connect immediately to the dedicated international platforms, that is to say Filmfreeway, Clickforfestivals, Movibeta, Festhome, Uptofest and Cineport. After downloading the film on one of these platforms, it is immediately submitted to the event. The registration fee is really paltry and accessible to anyone. For information you can mail to info@oiff-cinefest.com.
We are sure this edition will surprise you.
